Current Perspectives in Cardio-oncology: Insights from Global Experts
Guest Editor: Dr Massimiliano Camilli, Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Rome, Italy
Cardio-oncology was established with the aim of defining primary and secondary prevention approaches through surveillance and the use of tools to stratify and diminish the cardiovascular risk of cancer patients. This branch of medicine also contributes to set a new platform in translational medicine for cardiovascular disease, by focusing on the interplay between cancer and heart disease. As a relatively young discipline of cardiovascular medicine, many aspects still need to be investigated.
In this special collection, we discuss critical topics in the field through focused viewpoints made by world-known experts in oardio-oncology.
